Some time ago, I went on an amazing trip to Scotland. I visited the Fairy Glen in Isle of Skye, and the picture above is evidence of that. No doubt, I am no photographer, nor did I go at dawn or dusk to capture a mystical sight, heavy with mist and filtered with rays of sunlight.
This photo was taken right smack in the middle of summer, the sun shining full and hot, with midges buzzing in my ears.
Nonetheless, a wee poem sprung idly into my mind, and I’ve a thought to share it with you. So here it is. Enjoy!
The Faery Ring
O faery ring – bright reds and blues.
Of merry chirpings and trickling pools,
of smoothened stones and leaf-dropped dew.
Be still; be silent; be sober.
Let not fickle beauty lure,
lest in the mists you disappear.
Well, what do you think? 🙂
I am truly grateful to have seen such sights. I think that such beauty and detail in this world points us to the undeniable fact that there is indeed a Creator — one who created us and the world. As a Christian, I take delight in this because it means that God has created a world in which every single being has its purpose and order, and nothing can exist outside of Him. And I am one such being.
And you are, as well.
